Althea's career led her to wonder about work. Now her workplace adventures have inspired her to write Claire Bellingham's stories about life, work and how work undoubtedly becomes life.
Behind Claire's humourous and deeply relatable adventures are serious questions about human behaviour, organizational culture, power and the strange rules people learn to accept simply because they are at work.
With a background in language and a gift for understanding human dynamics, Althea examines what workplaces reveal about us and what might have to change if work is ever going to become better than it is right now.
As a founding author of Delnic Media’s Black Womaning in Corporate™ imprint, she is inviting readers into an honest conversation about work, people and all the tea in between.
In Her Own Words
Althea Branton (she/her/elle) is someone who will likely never work for anyone else again after her forthcoming books are released to the world.
She’s gifted in understanding human dynamics and how that plays out in organizations, but that’s really difficult to put on a résumé.
Althea loves the written word and considers writing to be art, so at least she’s putting her Honours Bachelor of Science in Language to good use.
When Althea isn’t actively dismantling kyriarchy, she loves to read, watch musicals, and eat all sorts of chocolate.

Claire Bellingham is a recent MBA graduate who got a job as an Account Manager when she couldn't find any opportunities in her field. As she goes to work every day questioning why she spent thousands on her education, she starts to question the nature of work. Why do people steal each other’s food? Why do routine emails somehow involve the entire planet? Why is behaviour that would be unacceptable elsewhere treated as perfectly normal at work?
Claire starts a blog called I Wonder About Work, where she spills the tea on workplace behaviour, organizational culture and the humans responsible for both. Her blog asks whether work can actually be better than it is right now and what people will have to do differently to get there.
Then her coworkers started to read her blog. Now they've got ideas on how things should be...
